B.L.A.S.T Wednesday Night Children’s Ministry
5 years old through 6th grade
Wednesdays at 6:00pm
Bring your child each Wednesday night for B.L.A.S.T. (Believe, Learn, and Seek Truth) – a fun night of Bible stories, snacks, crafts, and games! The children love the Emmy-nominated SUPERBOOK video series as it brings Scripture to life and leads to discussion about the difference between knowing about God instead of truly knowing Him! Please join us in Cottage 2 for a fun night with our church family. For more information, contact Katherine Trock-Akin at 387-0566 ext 209.
W.O.R.D. Puppet Team Ministry
4th through 12th grade
The W.O.R.D. Puppet Team Ministry is committed to worship, outreach, relationships, and discipleship and is a fantastic ministry for our kids! It is offered for those in the 4th grade and above. They meet for practice on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00pm in the Chi Rho House. This is a great opportunity to learn the art of puppetry, and build relationships with other youth as we minister to our church family and the community. New members may join our current team at our Puppet Team Orientation and Training on September 16th from Noon-3pm. For more information, contact Cindy McLaughlin at 387-0566, ext. 210.
Rooted: A Youth Bible Study
7th through 12th grade
Our Bible study/small group program is open to all students currently in 7th grade of older. The small group format lends itself to more discussion-based lessons and is a great way to dive into Scripture together. Contact Ben Cheny at 387-0566, ext. 215.
Introduction into Anglicanism
January 9 – April 10 Epistle Transept
Join Fr. Andrew and discover (or rediscover!) the beauty of Anglicanism! This class will explore what it means to be an Anglican Christian by studying the origins and development of the Anglican Communion, the characteristics of Anglican doctrine and practice, the nature of liturgical worship, and the significance of sacramental theology. This class will be especially helpful to those who have come to Christchurch from other Christian traditions. All those seeking membership are encouraged to attend.
Celebration of Discipline
January 9 – April 10 Canterbury Hall
Led by Dcn. Morgan Clark and Bryan McLaughlin
What are the spiritual disciplines? Using Richard Foster’s book Celebration of Discipline as a guide, this class will explore the various spiritual practices that Christians have used to grow closer to God. This study will examine practices that all Christians can integrate into their daily lives, including prayer, fasting, solitude, and many others.
Death on a Friday Afternoon – Special Lenten Class
February 20 – April 10 Emmaus Room
Led by Lynn Bloch
Join Lynn Bloch for this special Lenten study of Richard John Neuhaus’ spiritual classic, Death on a Friday Afternoon. A series of meditations on Jesus’ Seven Last Words on the cross, Neuhaus’ book explores the depth of human experience through the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This six-week class will examine the meaning of Jesus’ last words in our lives as Christians.
Children’s Celebration Choir
Our Celebration Choir sings periodically on Sunday mornings during the Offertory. Children ages 5 through 6th grade are invited to join. Rehearsals are every Wednesday, 5:30-6:00pm. If your child is interested in singing, contact Thomas Bowers at 387-0566, ext. 217, or email@example.com.
Adult Chancel Choir
Come sing with us! Our adult choir leads worship every Sunday with hymns, anthems, and traditional chant, pulling from the richness of the Anglican choral tradition. We rehearse Wednesday evenings 5:45-7:00pm, and Sunday mornings at 8:30am. For more information on joining the choir, contact Thomas Bowers at 387-0566, ext. 217, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
