Pastoral Care

We are committed to addressing the spiritual and emotional needs of our Parish in ways that are thoughtful, compassionate, and responsive. Whether you are exploring ways to serve or experiencing an especially difficult season of life, it is our hope that you will avail yourself of the following Pastoral Care ministries.

Good Grief Funeral Ministry

The Good Grief Funeral Ministry provides assistance to families of our parish before and after the funeral of a loved one. Upon request, the Good Grief Funeral Ministry can organize meals, coordinate food and flower deliveries, answer the family phone, and serve in other ways as needed. For more information about the Good Grief Funeral Ministry, including how to serve, contact Bess Blackmon at 264-4545, or Prim Brown at 546-0075.

The Prayer Team

The Prayer Team of Christchurch is committed to helping others recognize and receive the life-transforming grace of God. In addition to praying daily for the expressed needs of parishioners and their loved ones, Prayer Team members are available for prayer in the transepts of the church during Eucharist. Prayer requests are always treated with the utmost confidentiality. For more information about the Prayer Team of Christchurch, including how to become a trained member, contact Fr. Andrew Rowell.

Home Communion Teams

The Home Communion Teams of Christchurch provide Holy Eucharist to those who are unable to attend the services on Sundays. Team members are commissioned and equipped to visit parishioners and their loved ones in homes, hospitals, and other care facilities in order to share “the holy food and drink of new and unending life” in Christ. For more information about how to serve, contact Fr. Andrew Rowell.
